Tutorial Tuesday: Felt Flower Headbands

I am always a sucker for cute, but simple hair accessories.  Flower headbands have been around for sometime, but I just don't care to have a flower the size of a cereal bowl on the side of my head.  While making the felt flower wreath, I started thinking headbands.  What follows is what transpired from those thoughts...

Felt Flower Tutorial:

1. Start with a square piece of felt.  Different sized squares will create different sized flowers.

2.  Starting at one side, draw a continuous spiral.  Once again, different sized spirals will create difference in flowers.  ** This step is not completely necessary, after making a couple, I just skipped to the cutting step. **

 3.  Starting at the side, cut out the continuous spiral.

4.  Starting with the end of the spiral (where you began cutting), roll the spirals around one another.  Glue occasionally.

5.  When you have finished, the middle of the spiral will fit nicely on the back.  Glue securely in place.

6.  Glue onto the elastic headband. (Obviously picture was taken after I made multiple flower - 1 big and 2 medium)

7.  Cut a rectangle the size of the flowers.  Glue onto the back of the flowers.  At this point, I also placed a zig zag of glue on the inside of the headband for a non-slip fit.

That's it! EASY PEASY right?!

Here are the two different headbands I made.

XOXO
